Controls Engineer

TCA Technologies is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our growing ranks.

  • Create electrical drawings for systems, includes control and power circuits, panel layout. Prepare and maintain electrical drawings in AutoCAD Electric
  • Design and programming of safety system (Safety PLC and Controllers)
  • Design and development of PLC programming (AB, Omron, Siemems, Beckhoff, etc)
  • Design of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, DeviceNet, Profibus, RS-232)
  • Programming and implementing HMI (AB, Siemens, Omron, Proface, Automation Direct, etc)
  • Design of SCADA Systems (Ignition) 
  • Robot system design (Fanuc, Denso, ABB, Motoman)
  • Configuring AC/DC drives (AB, ABB, Siemens, Omron, Emerson)
  • Machine vision design (Cognex, Keyence, Banner)
  • Automation project test and installation at customer site. Project support
  • Database design (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Access enquiries)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5  years experience in systems/controls development, design and integration of factory automation equipment for Intermediate Controls Position
  • Minimum 5-8  years experience in systems/controls development, design and integration of factory automation equipment for Senior Controls Position
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Must exhibit professional and courteous communication / interaction under pressure with Customers, Vendors and TCA staff
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of self-motivation
  • Strong logical and methodical reasoning capabilities
  • Desire to keep abreast of leading-edge technology
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • This position does require travel (approximately 20%)
  • Candidates must have a valid passport and drivers license with which to travel seamlessly through Canada, the USA, Mexico, Europe and China
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend if needed
