Automation System for the Construction Industry
Used to form engineered polymer composite roof panels for the construction industry, this co-extruder press line is capable of producing panels in widths up to 12" at the rate of 6–6.5 parts per minute. It occupies 10' ft x 60' ft of floor space and was designed, built in-house, tested, and delivered in only 19 weeks.

Controlled by a Siemens TI505 PLC with a Profibus DP interface, the processing line centers around a 2-1/2" cap extruder, a 4-1/2" core extruder, and a TCA designed and built 180 ton servo press that delivers high speed, high accuracy operation. This extrusion line also features a press feed walking beam system, a hot bed conveyor system, as well as a laser printer for part marking and a scrap system that collects the cut-out from trimming operations for recycling.
TCA's engineering team put the line through its paces and successfully demonstrated all process parameters before the shipment to the customer. We supervised the installation and commissioning, and supplied the customer with full documentation, including maintenance and operating manuals, as well as AutoCAD assembly drawings, schematics, line layout drawings, and the foundation bolt plan.
