Mechanical Engineer

TCA Technologies is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing ranks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, implement and document complete mechanical designs for custom manufacturing and production automated equipment
  • Design and produce line arrangement and assembly drawings for customer approval
  • Innovative and creative personality for process and design development
  • Design analysis including mechanical calculations, FEA and robot simulation
  • Prepare/obtain design calculations, functional layouts, produce detail drawings, pneumatic drawings and Bill of Materials for both purchased and manufactured items
  • Complete system documentation including drawing updates, operation manuals, “Redlines” and SRED Claims
  • Provide project leadership when requested
  • Work with all team members to drive projects from sales kick off to final sign off
  • Work in shop environment as needed for prototype builds, machine builds, testing or any miscellaneous tasks to help production
  • Work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • This position requires some travel (approximately 10%) 


Qualifications & Experience

  • University or College degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical engineering and design of custom manufacturing and production equipment
  • Minimum 5 years experience in SolidWorks
  • Factory automation experience including robotics, motion control, cycle time analysis, line balancing and process development an asset 
  • Project management experience considered an asset
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Must exhibit professional and courteous communication / interaction under pressure with Customers, Vendors and TCA staff
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of self-motivation
  • Strong logical and methodical reasoning capabilities
  • Desire to keep abreast of leading-edge technology
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Candidates must have a valid passport and drivers license with which to travel seamlessly through Canada, the USA, Mexico, Europe and China
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends if needed
